No one likes to be served with a summons which is the formal legal notification to you that you have been sued. The most important thing to remember if this happens to you is that the service of the summons begins the time in which you have to respond to the lawsuit. The type of summons and the time to respond varies depending on the claim being made against you. Nothing good can happen by ignoring a summons.
If you have received a summons, you should immediately contact our office. On your first visit, you should bring with you the summons and the complaint which was attached to it. It is recommended that you do not speak to anyone else about the summons or the circumstances that led up to your being served. If you believe that you have insurance which covers the matter, you should notify the insurance company immediately that you have been sued and bring with you a copy of your policy on your first visit. Your initial consultation will include the discussion of our fees and provide an estimate of what the bill will be.

Do you believe you have a claim against someone else?
If you believe that someone owes you money or that you have been wronged, you should consult with us. On your first visit, you should bring all the documents that you have that would support your claim. At this visit we will discuss with you whether you have a claim that can be pursued in court, and if so, what type of fee (contingent, hourly) we would charge and what the likelihood of prevailing would be.
